Amanda Rumboldt with some of her artwork.
A saying that many people have heard before is ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder.’ It is evident that many artists have a knack for seeing beauty in many different settings.
Local artist Amanda Rumboldt is no different. She has found beauty in many different places, and has been inspired by many different things to create and celebrate beauty in the form of artwork of her own.
As a recent graduate from the bachelor of fine arts (visual arts) program at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland, this young artist has had the opportunity to work with other skilled artists and receive advice on how to further improve her artistic talent.
Although Amanda has been painting, sketching and creating other pieces of art for many years prior to university, her time studying visual arts at Grenfell has allowed her to create many more pieces of art. Some of Amanda’s favourite methods of creating artwork are photography, painting and printmaking, which result in her own pieces she sells through her business, Amanda Rumboldt Fine Art.
Amanda may be young, at 22 years old, but her art portfolio proves that she has many years of experience in creating artwork. A few summers ago she was a participant of Youth Ventures selling canvas sneakers with her own unique hand-painted designs on them.
This summer, in speaking to the local Youth Ventures co-ordinator, she heard about some opportunities to partake in local events to sell artwork and receive extra promotion of her business through Youth Ventures again. Seeing this opportunity, Amanda rejoined Youth Ventures, and recently participated in a local event in which crafters set up booths to advertise and sell their products and artwork to cruise ship passengers during a visit to the city of Corner Brook.
She sold a piece of her work and passed out business cards to interested locals and tourists, further promoting Amanda Rumboldt Fine Art. To view and purchase some of Amanda’s artwork, she has an online store at FineArtAmerica.com/profiles/Amanda-Rumboldt. Her business of Amanda Rumboldt Fine Art is also on Facebook!
