Youth Ventures — By Bethany Roberts/Special to The Star

Andrew Lodge is excited to seek upcoming orders for his business A.L. Design.

Being driven doesn’t only refer to vehicles — it can also refer to motivation.  Andrew Lodge, 15, from Deer Lake is driven by his passion for sketching and has combined it with his love for cars.

Andrew came to Youth Ventures at the end of June with an interest in starting up a drawing/sketching business.

He has been drawing his whole life, specifically cars for the last two to three years and has a career goal to be a car designer.

When he saw the opportunity to turn a hobby into profit, he was very excited about starting A.L. Design.

During one of his visits with the local Youth Ventures co-ordinator, Andrew indicated that he spends a lot of his free time drawing.

“I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember,” he said.

Andrew has a strong creative ability and an artistic knack. He can look at an image of any type of car and free-hand sketch until it looks like the real thing.

From drawing most of his life, he has gained great skills to become naturally talented at drawing cars. Andrew does whatever it takes to grow and improve in his artistic abilities every day.

A.L. Design offers a wide variety of car sketches to meet individual interest at an inexpensive cost. There is an array of options from design, colour, type and size so that each drawing is unique. His sketches are hand-drawn, high quality and very detailed.

They can be custom ordered and can be either coloured or black and white. He also gives his customers the option for the drawings to be unframed or framed.
