The kindergarten and Grade 1 classes at Elwood Elementary held their spring concert on May 8. They had been preparing for weeks and all the hard work certainly paid off.

The Grade 1 classes opened the concert with three songs and a poem called “Three Little Monkeys.”

Next, the kindergartens sang songs and presented a poem called “Five Little Fishies.”

Finally, the entire group took the stage to sing a song together. The theme of the concert was farms and animals.

Mrs. Renouf and all the Grade 1 and kindergarten teachers and students worked hard to make the concert a success.

On May 7, the Grade 4 students at Elwood Elementary celebrated the end of the unit Bonne Fête a Tous with a French birthday party to celebrate all students’ birthdays.

In preparation for the party, students made decorations, invitations and birthday cards in French.

We played passez le cadeau (pass the parcel) and gelez (freeze dance).

The French students listened to French music and enjoyed some cupcakes and juice.

Everyone had a great time.
