    The Corner Brook Museum and Archives presents “What Do Maps Say? Maps and Storytelling” With Dr. Doreen Klassen. Discover the many uses of maps, test your knowledge with a short quiz, draw your own map of a place that doesn`t exit on an official map and share its story. This family event (including grandparents) will be taking place at the Corner Brook Museum on July 20 at 1:30 p.m. Pre-registration is mandatory Please pre-register your family by calling 634-2518.

COMPOSTING WORKSHOP

    The Western Environment Center (WEC) in partnership with Food Security Network NL and Mental Wealth will hold a composting workshop at the Mental Wealth Community Garden (located on Batstones Road) on Sunday, July 20 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The workshop will include a presentation, discussion and hands-on activities on how to start and maintain both a backyard and worm composter. Participants are asked to please bring gardening gloves. Refreshments will be served and there will be draws for prizes, including a worm composting bin start-up kit.
