Corner Brook -
The Canadian Cancer Society's Glistening Gala originally set for this evening has been postponed.
Krista Robertson, the society's community resource co-ordinator in Corner Brook, said organizers are looking at rescheduling the event.
The 50/50 draw will be drawn for tonight because of the stipulations of the lottery licence.
"I think there was maybe a lack of interest right now," Robertson said. "We did have those who purchased tickets and I would like to thank them for that and our sponsors and friends.
"I would like for people to keep their eyes and ears open for details on the new event in the new year."
The event will probably be held in the spring and will be revamped to suit the season.
The gala was to feature a dinner, a dance, live entertainment with Lloyd Bartlett and the Corner Brook Regional High choir, along with a live and silent auction, and various prize draws.
Organizers are aiming for a March ball at the moment, but that's not yet set.
"We'll go with fresh faces in the new year and fresh spirit," she said.
