The Western Star Take a Bite Out of Winter Contest
The contest will run from Wednesday, February 1, 2012 to Saturday, March 10, 2012. A contest advertisement with an official entry form will be printed in The Western Star each day, Monday to Saturday during the contest period.
Each day during the contest period a business will have the sun symbol hidden in an advertisement. Find the sun symbol and write the business name, date and other contact information on the entry form and drop off or mail to Take A Bite Out Of Winter contest c/o The Western Star, PO Box 460, 106 West Street, Corner Brook, NL, A2H 6E7.
Only original entry forms will be eligible for the contest. Photocopies or facsimiles of the official entry form will NOT be accepted.
The contest is open to all residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, 18 years of age or older. Employees of The Western Star, Transcontinental Media G.P. and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, agents, contractors and immediate families (person(s) residing in the same household) are NOT eligible to enter this contest. All Newspapers in Education newspapers distributed to schools cannot be used for entering this contest.
Prize Draw
To be eligible to win The Western Star Take A Bite Out of Winter Contest, one random draw will take place on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from all eligible entries.
The winner must comply with the contest rules and must sign a standard declaration and release form accepting their prize as awarded. The winner will be required to sign a standard liability/publicity release releasing The Western Star and Transcontinental Media G.P. and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, agents, contractors and employees from any damage or loss that may result from entering this contest or accepting and/or utilizing a prize.
Prize
The Western Star readers are eligible to win return airfare for two to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for eight days and seven nights at a 5+ star, all inclusive, Signature Vacation resort. The duration of the trip is from April 12, 2012 to April 19, 2012.The prize includes only what is specifically described above and no other allowance will be granted. The trip must be taken at the above allotted date. The winner must have reached the age of majority of 18 in Newfoundland and Labrador at the time the prize is drawn. The winner shall agree, if necessary, to have their name and/or picture including their photograph, and/or their voices used for advertising purposes related to this contest, free of charge. The Western Star highly recommends the winner(s) have a valid passport.
Please note this prize must be taken as offered. No substitutions will be allowed. Refusal to accept the prize releases The Western Star, Transcontinental Media G.P. and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, agents, contractors and employees of any obligation toward the winner. Should the winner make any false statement they shall be automatically disqualified from the contest!
The Western Star, Transcontinental Media G.P. and their respective affiliates, directors, officers, agents, contractors and employees shall assume no liability whatsoever for any situation in which their inability to act results from an event or situation beyond their control, including a strike, lockout or any other labour dispute at their location or the locations of the organizations and businesses whose services are used to hold this contest.
All personal information, such as your name, address, telephone numbers and age is collected solely for the purposes of administering the contest and shall not be used for any other purpose without your consent. By providing this information, you consent to it being used for the stated purposes.
By entering The Western Star Take A Bite Out of Winter contest, contestants agree to accept the rules. The decisions of the judges appointed by The Western Star will be final and binding.
