STEPHENVILLE — Students of Stephenville Primary School learned all about reducing, reusing and recycling on Monday when staff members of the Multi Materials Stewardship Board gave presentations at the school.
It’s all part of Waste Reduction Week activities in which students are provided with tips and tricks about how to reduce waste in a fun and simple way.
Stephenville Primary has been involved in recycling for a number of years and to celebrate Waste Reduction Week parents, students and teachers have been asked to think of ways they can personally reduce their waste.
The school has a recycling blitz on for the week and is asking anyone in the community to bring in their recyclable drink containers from 8:15 a.m.-2:40 p.m. daily. The program will continue throughout the school year.
Recyclables can also be dropped off at the Recycling Depot with a pink slip collected with the child’s named printed on it and brought to the school.
On Thursday, the school is holding Big Green Up in which students and parents are asked to make no garbage at home and school to create no waste.
