Matthew Hornell returns to his home province this month to play 12 shows across Newfoundland.
Hornell will be playing tunes from his previous releases, and will also share tracks off his upcoming record. He has been busy collaborating with bluegrass artist Andrew Sneddon on the new album
Hornell received four MusicNL awards for his debut album, “Matthew Hornell and the Diamond Minds,” including Entertainer of the Year. Last year’s sophomore release, “Have It All,” earned him an ECMA Rising Star nomination.
He kicks off his Newfoundland tour in Saturday in Corner Brook at Swirsky’s. He’ll then cross the island with performances, including twoshows in Gros Morne National Park — July 13 at Galliott Studio in Woody Point and July 14 at Java Jack’s in Rocky Harbour.
July 17, Hornell stops at The Ship in St. John’s, then heads to Placentia on July 18 at Three Sister’s during the historic Placentia regatta.
