CORNER BROOK — The Off-Broadway Players will be busy this week getting its affairs in order for the fall season.
The city’s community theatre group is holding information sessions and open auditions for the musical production of “The Wizard of Oz” on Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. in Room AS 324 at Grenfell Campus.
Auditions will be informal, and for anyone interested in trying out for a speaking role, no need to prepare ahead as it will be a cold reading from the script. Auditions are open to anyone 19 years old and up, or a current post-secondary student.
Information sessions are intended for anyone interested in being on stage or working behind the scenes.
The production will be directed by Jim Parsons, with musical direction by Gary Graham and choreography by Candice Pike. “The Wizard of Oz” will hit the stage in October.
If someone is interested, but unable to attend please email thejimp@gmail.com or call 632-0992.
On Thursday evening, the group will hold its annual general meeting and election of executive officers.
The group’s current president, Stephen Perchard, encourages new members to attend to learn about community theatre production and run for elected positions.
The meeting is set for Grenfell Room AS 383 beginning at 7:00 pm.
