Corner Brook -
Western Health plans to keep its immunization clinics open even if it runs out of H1N1 influenza A vaccine.
"At the scheduled clinics, for those who meet the current priority group criteria, we will be taking people's name and contact information so that we can schedule them for appointments when we receive additional vaccine," the health authority stated in a prepared release.
A request to Western Health for an interview on the subject of vaccine supplies was unmet as of press time.
The organization has been providing swine flu shots to a number of high-risk groups over the past couple of weeks, starting with health-care workers.
The supply of vaccine hasn't been steady since it receive its first shipment of 3,000 doses of adjuvanted vaccine.
"Western Health will vaccinate people until we run out of vaccine," the statement read. "The province will be receiving more vaccine again next week ... We plan to keep clinics open as scheduled for Nov. 5 and 6, even if we run out of vaccine.
