It seems Port aux Basques and the southwest coast area has escaped the worst of Tropical Storm Leslie.

Topics :
Environment Canada , The Gulf News , Burgeo

The area experienced heavy rains through the night. While some streams and rivers are running high, there are no reports of flooding.

Winds have been gusty but were not out of the ordinary.

In Burgeo, town manager Blaine Marks said there is no damage to report.

Environment Canada is reporting that the worst of the rains have passed for the west coast.
