RCMP seize drugs and weapons in Springdale

SPRINGDALE — A 49-year-old Springdale man was arrested Saturday after RCMP discovered a marijuana grow operation at the east end of the central Newfoundland town.

RCMP officers located marijuana plants in the woods which were seized.

A search warrant was issued for the accused’s home where officers seized a number of weapons including a rifle, a compound bow and a grenade

In addition to the weapons, a bag of marijuana containing over 30 grams was seized.

The accused was released from custody to appear in provincial court in Springdale Nov. 2 to face charges.
