Eric Sheppard, 62, was arrested by the Corner Brook RCMP after police received a complaint of an assault against an 82-year-old man in Irishtown Saturday.

Sheppard was released from custody only to be arrested again Sunday for uttering threats to another individual in the small north shore of the Bay of Islands community.

In provincial court in Corner Brook Wednesday, despite Crown attorney Bob Matthews opposing his release, Judge Kymil Howe granted him bail with instructions not to be in Irishtown.

This time legal aid lawyer John Regan said Sheppard consented to remand until his next court appearance Sept. 21.

The matters are still under investigation by the Corner Brook RCMP detachment.

Is it me or does it seem to me that Judge Kymil Howe let everyone out on bail? Does she not believe that there are some people who can be dangerous? I am not impressed with her judicial decisions to seemingly allow dangerous people loose on the streets time after time.

I think the reason the judge lets all these people out on bail..is because she knows they will break their bail conditions,,therefore they make more money, when they forfeit the money put up for bail..that's what I think..it's all a money racket..where would they be jobwise without their criminals!!
