At approximately 1 p.m. this afternoon, the RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay responded to a fatality approximately 100 kilometres west of the community on Rte. 500.
A 32-year-old male from the United States died at the scene. Preliminary investigation into this accident has determined that a motorcycle, driven by the victim, crashed into the rear of another vehicle according to an RCMP press release.
Both vehicles were traveling east towards Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
RCMP Traffic Services West are investigating this accident with assistance from Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP.
An RCMP traffic reconstruction analyst is en route from St. John's to assist in this investigation.
The name of the victim and the community from which he is from is being withheld at this time.
