The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture and Chair of the Cabinet Committee on Fisheries Issues says progress is being made in supporting workers displaced by the permanent closure of seven fish plants throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Darin King provided an update to the house on efforts being made in supporting workers displaced by the permanent closure of seven fish plants throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Part of those plans include a meeting with representatives from the community of Jackson's Arm that will take place this evening in Deer Lake.

    People... I hope understand now...why our province can't grow...It because of poor leadership...Are you telling me...not one of our MHA...haven't got the foresight how to put people to work...in a PRODUCTIVE WAY..

    Let's stamp them up !! It's easy to do, to bad it prevents any kind of progress, just ages the people one more unproductive year, before any hard decision's. Pretty lack luster/lazy effort by the government.
