A 19-year-old woman from Corner Brook has been charged with drunk driving after allegedly being involved in two accidents within a short time span early Monday morning.
The car she was driving is suspected to have first been in a hit-and-run incident in the area of Confederation Drive and Lewin Parkway shortly after 3 a.m.
The suspect vehicle was then located in the area of the J.R. Smallwood Building a couple of kilometres away, having collided with a sign post and light pole.
The car was extensively damaged.
The driver was taken to Western Memorial Regional Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
She was released from hospital, but has been charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer.
She has been released from police custody and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
