Timothy Ball, 21, and Zachery White, 22, had their legal matters set over during brief appearances in provincial court in Corner Brook. They were both arrested by RCMP and RNC joint forces drug team officers in Deer Lake May 1 following the search of a parked vehicle on a parking lot off Main Street shortly after noon.
Ball, the son of Deer Lake Mayor Dean Ball, was represented by Keir O’Flaherty. The lawyer requested a postponement to review the disclosure provided to him Tuesday. The matter will be called again Aug. 7
White, who is being represented by Jamie Merrigan, had his proceeding set over until July 24. The lawyer was also seeking time to review the disclosure package.
Police seized marijuana, cocaine and a quantity of prescription drugs during the search of the vehicle. Ball is facing two charges of possession (cocaine and marijuana) for the purposes of trafficking and a single count of possession of cocaine and prescription opiates. White is charged with possession of marijuana for the purposes of trafficking.
