Man, 71, arrested for having thousands of contraband cigarettes

A 71-year-old Conception Bay South man is facing criminal charges after RCMP officers seized 18,800 contraband cigarettes at the man’s residence Tuesday afternoon when they showed up with a search warrant.

The man will appear in court to face charges under the Federal Excise Act and the Provincial Revenue Administration Act, states an RCMP news release.
