STEPHENVILLE — Bay St. George RCMP are hoping the public can provide information on a break, enter and theft from the Zion Pentecostal Church on Carolina Avenue in Stephenville. reported at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

The break-in was reported 8:30 a.m. Monday with the incident taking place sometime after 12 p.m. Sunday. The thieves gained entry to the church through the front entrance. A large sum of money was taken from the church and while police did confirm it exceeded $1,000, RCMP wouldn’t disclose the exact amount.

The RCMP Forensic Identification Section from Corner Brook was assisting the Bay St. George RCMP with its investigation on Monday morning.
