ST. JOHN’S — The son of the woman whose body was found in a Paradise field last week appeared in provincial court in St. John’s Friday, five days after he was arrested in Halifax.
A warrant had been issued for Joseph Rice’s arrest in March on suspicion that he had been distributing child pornography.
The 37-year-old faces two charges — possessing child pornograph and distributing child pornography. Rice’s case was set for a bail hearing Monday.
Police are not alleging Rice’s arrest is connected to his mother’s death. The body of Patricia Rice was found next to the McDonald’s on Topsail Road on July 25.
