Shortly after 2 a.m. Firday morning the Stephenville Fire Department and Bay St. George RCMP were called to 34A St. Clare Avenue for a fire.
The fire was quickly controlled and extinguished, say the RCMP, however there was damage done to an exterior wall as well as the siding.
The residence is currently unoccupied, but it is close enough to surrounding housing that the fire was a risk to life if it had not been extinguished.
Fire Investigators on scene have determined the fire is suspicious in nature.
