The RNC in Corner Brook is investigating a complaint of robbery that occurred Saturday near a local skate park in the area of Commercial Street and Park Street at about 8:30 p.m.

Police say the 12-year-old boy was approached by a 16-year-old male, who allegedly assaulted him and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

As a result of the incident, the boy sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect has not been located by police at this time, but he was known to the victim.

The RNC is continuing their investigation into the matter.

Why was a 12 year old alone in the downtown area at 8:30 P.M. without adult supervision??!?! Sheesh...some parents...I was in high school before I was allowed to venture off on my own like that...especially down town.
