CORNER BROOK  Heavy rain fall is causing disruption to traffic flow and office operations on the western part of the island, Monday.

The Corner Brook to Stephenville access road west bound lanes are closed at Corner Brook Stream Bridge due to flooding.

Routes 463 West Bay and 460 Ship Cove are closed because of flooding. Department of Transportation and Works road crews are onsite. Emergency vehicles only are permitted.

Route 460 at Felix Cove is now re-open, after a short closure early Monday afternoon.

Route 450 to York Harbour is reduced to one lane in sections because of a wash-out. Motorists are advised to use caution.

Also, motorists are also advised to use caution two kilometers south of Rocky Harbour where there is a heavy water build up on road.

Office closures

Weather conditions have caused several offices in the region to close as of Monday afternoon.

This road closure has caused the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services’ Piccadilly office to close until further notice. For inquiries, please contact the Stephenville office at 709-643-8601.

Medical Clinics in Degrau and Lourdes, and the Community Health office in Piccadilly will be closed for the remainder of Monday, said Western Health.
