Nain woman accused in axe-wielding incident

Janice Ikkusek, 26, of Nain has been charged with assault and assault with a weapon as a result of an incident involving an axe that occurred in the early morning hours of Sept. 12.

RCMP were called to a Nain home about 6:45 a.m. after a woman is alleged to have tried to strike a man with an axe, then assaulted a second man by scratching and hitting him.

She is due in court Nov. 7 in Nain.

No one was seriously injured in this incident.

Wow! Thought I was reading the Nain Gazzette or some other Nain newspaper with all the Nain headlines. Lots of activity there. Had to scroll back to the top to confirm I was reading The Telegram.
