CORNER BROOK — A McIvers man remained in custody at least another night following his arrest Friday for allegedly assaulting and threatening a number of people on the north shore of the Bay of Islands.

Robert Park, 32, appeared in provincial court in Corner Brook Monday, being remanded in custody for another appearance this afternoon.

According to RCMP in Corner Brook, Park threatened to kill three individuals and assaulted two people Friday. He was also charged with assault with a weapon in an incident Thursday. The three assault charges involved what was described as three different weapons — a box, a piece of lumber and a brick.

Between Aug. 1-18, Park is also accused of harassing a fourth person. In connection with this charge, he allegedly broke into a house with intent to commit a crime on two separate occasions.

Between Aug. 10-15, police said he pulled a phone out of the wall and shut off the power and water to the house. He was charged with mischief as a result.

All of the incidents are said to have occurred in McIvers.

I think the court system has to be overhauled! Cutting off power and water! Mischief? They don't even know the meaning of the word! This goes beyond mischief!
