STEPHENVILLE — The driver of a motorcycle involved in a collison with a with a car driven by an 82-year-old man at the intersection of Hansen Highway and Bruce Boulevard in Stephenville Friday afternoon, sustained multiple fractures.
The 36-year-old Lourdes man was first taken to Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, but was later transferred to Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook where he was undergoing further testing on Monday.
Cpl. Steve Henley of the Bay St. George RCMP said on Monday, the man was reported to be satisfactory in stable condition.
Police received a call reporting the accident at about 2:40 p.m. on Friday. The elderly man was also taken to Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville to be checked out and observed.
Henley said there was considerable damage to the motorcycle and some damage to the front end of the car, but the air bag did not deploy in the vehicle.
