MusicNL award nominations are out, and Baytown, Chris Kirby and Repartee are leading them with five nominations each.
Baytown, which released the record “Two Places” earlier this year, is up for the Factor Album of the Year, Group of the Year, Bell Aliant Entertainer of the Year, Alternative Artist/Group of the Year and Statoil Rising Star New Artist/Group of the Year awards.
Kirby, who released the album “Wonderizer” with his band, The Marquee is vying for the Factor Album of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Bell Aliant Entertainer of the Year, Coast 101.1 FM Jazz/Blues Artist/Group of the Year, and SOCAN Songwriter of the Year, for his first single, “Waiting so Long.”
The members of electro-pop group Repartee have also had a successful year with their self-titled debut record, and is up for the Factor Album of the Year, Group of the Year, Statoil Rising Star New Artist/Group of the Year, Bell Aliant Entertainer of the Year and Molson Pop/Rock Artist of the Year.
Telegram arts reporter Tara Bradbury is also nominated for the award for Media Person of the Year.
The MusicNL industry awards will be presented during a brunch at the Delta Hotel ballroom Oct. 13, while the music awards will be handed out at an awards gala at the St. John’s Convention Centre Oct. 14.
