CORNER BROOK — The medical biohazard bag and container found near medical offices last week was not Western Health’s, according to an organization spokesperson.

A name and address of the woman the specimen inside the bag was likely taken from was on the container. It was found adjacent a dumpster outside the upper level of the Broadway Health Care Clinic on Herald Avenue in Corner Brook.

The facility contains a number of Western Health clinics in the lower level and some private physician clinics and other organizations in the upper level.

The spokesperson stated, via email, Western Health has left it to the health-care provider involved to follow up on this issue.

Previously, the organization expressed full confidence in its system of transferring and disposing of biohazard waste and specimens.
