Man charged with threatening to kill Child, Youth and Family Services worker

CORNER BROOK  A 41-year-old Halfway Point man is in police custody for allegedly threatening to kill an employee of Child, Youth and Family Services in Corner Brook.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary received a report from a crisis line operator at 11:30 p.m. Monday that an unknown male had just called in and allegedly uttered the threat against the employee.

The suspect was identified on Tuesday and arrested at a residence in Halfway Point. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police assisted the RNC in the man’s arrest.

As a result of the investigation police were informed that the man had also allegedly threatened the victim earlier in the day.

He is charged with two counts of uttering threats to kill and a breach of court order.
