A 33-year-old New Brunswick man has been charged after being stopped by police in Deer Lake off Commerce St. at approximately 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

Members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and the RCMP Joint Forces searched the man and found quantities of marijuana, pills, money and drug paraphernalia.

The man was in the province for a court appearance on separate drug and weapons charges. He has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and breach of recognizance, and has been released to appear in provincial court in Corner Brook at a later date.
