Corner Brook man charged with uttering threats

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has charged a 32-year-old Corner Brook man with uttering threats.

At about 2 a.m. this morning, RNC Patrol Services received a complaint of disturbance in the Curling area. Upon arrival police say an intoxicated man had been discovered in the area. He was subsequently detained under the Detention of Intoxicated Persons Act.

Police say the man then threatened to cause bodily harm to the arresting officer. He was detained at HMP lock-up and held until sober at which time he was released to appear in court at a later date.

RNC Patrol Services is continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the RNC at 637-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 1- 800-222-TIPS (8477).
