Man charged with attempted break and entry

CORNER BROOK  A 37-year-old man will appear in provincial court later today to answer to  charges  stemming from an attempted break and enter early this morning.

Members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary street patrol unit responded to an alarm at a business in the Windsor Street area of the city at approximately 12:30 a.m. Upon arrival there was evidence that someone had attempted to enter the business, but no one was found on the scene.

At about 2:15 a.m. members came upon a suspicious vehicle in the same area. The investigation by officers led to the arrest of the driver for the attempted break-in. The man has been charged with attempted break and entry, possession of break-in instruments and breach of a court order.
