Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro says that while power has been restored to much of the island, including the majority of the west coast, central and the Northern Peninsula, that many electricity consumers on the Avalon Peninsula are still experiencing outages.
Hydro advises customers to reduce energy consumption by unplugging unnecessary appliances, turning down thermostats and refraining from using appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines until notified that the power system has been stabilized.
