CORNER BROOK  Two men charged with assaulting a man and taking his money on New Year’s Eve have been released from custody.

Topics :
Jonathan Park , Corner Brook

Jonathan Park, 18, and Paxton Sheahan, 20, both appeared before Judge Wayne Gorman in provincial court in Corner Brook Friday afternoon.

Crown attorney Lori St. Croix agreed to the release of both men under certain conditions, including that they have no contact with each other or the 20-year-old man who claims they assaulted and robbed him.

Park and Sheahan were both arrested Thursday, following a police investigation into the complaint filed by the victim Jan. 3.

While both are charged with one count of robbery with violence, Park is also charged with breaching a court order.

Park had his next court appearance set for Feb. 26, while Sheahan’s matter will be called again on Feb. 19.
