Police received a complaint from the 20-year-old victim at about 7 p.m. on Monday. She alleges that between Jan. 8 and Jan. 13 she had been assaulted by the accused at a residence in the city. The woman sustained minor injuries and did not require medical treatment. The victim and the accused are known to each other.
Police were unable to locate the man at the time of the complaint, however, he was located at 10 a.m. today at a city residence and arrested without incident.
The man is charged with two counts of assault with a Weapon, two counts of assault, uttering threats, mischief to property and two counts of breach of probation. The man is expected to appear in provincial court in Corner Brook today.
