CORNER BROOK  The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Corner Brook Detachment is reminding vehicle owners to lock their doors following a rash of vehicle break-ins over the weekend.

Police say that several vehicles parked in the Town of Mount Moriah were entered and items taken from them. Among the items stolen were three GPS (global positioning) units and a camouflage floater jacket.

In all the incidents the vehicles were left unlocked, allowing for easy entry by the culprit or culprits.

Besides keeping vehicles locked, police are advising the public not to leave valuables in their vehicles while unattended.

The Corner Brook RCMP is continuing to investigate the thefts. Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP at 637-4433 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
