RCMP end search for missing duck hunter

WEST BAY  Bay St. George RCMP have ended the recovery operation for a missing duck hunter.

Police say 50-year-old Richard Duffney went missing from West Bay on the Port au Port Peninsula on Monday.

As of 4 p.m. Friday, the RCMP say they've exhausted all avenues of investigation without finding Duffney.

The RCMP say the investigation will remain open, and all future information received will be assessed and acted upon accordingly.

Police also thanked search and rescue teams from Stephenville-Kippens-Port au Port, and Brarchois Brook, as well as the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre, Gander 103 Squadron and the Government of Newofundland and Labrador fire and emergency services for their assistance in the recover effort.
