STEPHENVILLE  One of the men charged in an armed home invasion in Stephenville on Jan. 18 pleaded guilty to a number of charges against him in Stephenville Provincial Court on Friday.

Charles Joseph Barron, 23, of Stephenville Crossing entered guilty pleas to possession of a controlled drug or substance, wearing a facemask with the intent to commit an indictable offence, breaching a probation order, armed robbery and carrying a weapon, which was a knife.

The matter has been set over to March 27 for sentencing and Barron was remanded in custody until that time.

Tyler Bennett, 19, of Mattis Point, and Marie Diane Bennett, 28, of Stephenville Crossing, who are alleged to have also been involved in the incident, have been released from custody with a court date set for March 4 for pleas.
