CORNER BROOK  The provincial government is currently reviewing the master program report completed by Stantec on the new hospital for Corner Brook.

Health and Community Services

That report, which was received on Wednesday, will support the finalization of the design for the facility.

“Our government is steadfast in its commitment to build a health-care facility in the western region that will address the health-care needs and demands in that region not just for now, but well into the future,” said Health and Community Services minister Susan Sullivan.

“This master program report will offer important information as the project moves into the next phase. It ensures we do this properly, and as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

To date, the provincial government has invested approximately $20 million on the new hospital. Contracts for site clearing and preparation work have been completed. Water and sewer has been extended to the site, the land has been shaped, and paving of Cpl. Pinksen Memorial Drive has been completed to provide access to the hospital.
