CORNER BROOK  The Corner Brook man arrested and charged for allegedly committing a series of crimes early Wednesday morning won’t be getting his bail hearing in provincial court until Tuesday.

Country Road , Western Memorial Regional Hospital

Christopher William Payne, 24, has nine charges against him, including three counts of trespassing, two counts apiece of break and entry and theft, plus single counts of possession of stolen property and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

The alleged offences stem from a series of calls responded to by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary between 1 - 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.

A vehicle was reported stolen on Greenings Hill, followed by a number of break-ins and thefts and then a single-vehicle accident on Country Road. The RNC later received a 911 call pertaining to an injured man.

Payne was taken into police custody after he was treated and released from Western Memorial Regional Hospital. It was anticipated that a bail hearing might be held in provincial court Friday, but the matter has been set over until Tuesday.
