Assisting with flood relief in Calgary

Grace Shears of Meadows and Aluisha Benoit of Stephenville, volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross, are travelling to Calgary, Alta. to help with flood relief efforts.

A pair of Canadian Red Cross volunteers from western Newfoundland will be joining to the flood relief effort in Calgary, Alta. today.

Grace Shears of Meadows and Aluisha Benoit of Stephenville are boarding a flight for the disaster area in Deer Lake this afternoon. Exactly what they will be doing is still unknown to both, but they are extremely anxious to be able to lend a hand to those in need.

The local chapter of the Red Cross on Main Street in Corner Brook is also accepting donations. People can conribute by visiting www.redcross.ca, calling 1-800-418-1111, or the local office at 634-4626.
