TORONTO — Cousins Frank and Mike Coleman of the Coleman Group of Companies have been named recipients of the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers (CFIG) 2013 Life Member Designation.
The honour was announced earlier this week.
Frank Coleman is the president and chief executive officer of the Coleman Group of Companies, the Corner Brook-based retail food, home furnishings and clothing company. He is also president and chief executive officer of Humber Valley Paving and Humber Valley Asphalt and Aggregates.
Colemans has been named one of Canada’s 50 best managed companies for seven successive years, and Frank was named CEO of the Year by Atlantic Business Magazine in 2010.
Mike Coleman is vice-president of procurement, wholesale and distribution operations at the Coleman Group.
“Both Frank and Mike have been very active supporters and staunch advocates for independent grocers across Canada for a long, long time,” said CFIG’s president and chief executive officer Thomas Barlow.
“Frank’s industry leadership and Mike’s commitment as chair of CFIG have helped to create a strong and vibrant independent grocery industry, not only in Newfoundland, but across the country.”
The Colemans will be officially recognized during CFIG’s Luncheon of Honour in Toronto on Sept. 30. The luncheon will be held during the Grocery Innovations Canada 2013 grocery exposition and conference.
