The RNC in Corner Brook are searching for evidence in the area of Quince Place in relation to an investigation dating back to September 2010.
CORNER BROOK The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, and members of the Bay of Islands Search and Rescue and Deer Lake Search and Rescue, are conducting a search in the area of Quince Place, Corner Brook today.
At about 8 a.m., the teams began scouring the grounds in the area of Dunfield Park off Westmount Road. Police are tight-lipped about the details of the investigation, but are saying new information has been received in relation to an investigation initiated in September 2010.
The search is being conducted in an attempt to confirm the validity of this information, and retrieve evidence should it exist.
The RNC is confident there are no safety risks to the general public, and are asking people to respect the boundaries of the search area and refrain from entering designated spaces.
The Western Star has been unable to find out any further details of the investigation. It appears as though it was not something made public.
