Repair work to the bulbous bow of the MV Blue Puttees is progressing ahead of schedule and the vessel will likely return to service earlier than originally anticipated, Marine Atlantic announced today.
Marine Atlantic currently anticipates the vessel re-entering service during the middle of next week which will mean a resumption of the Argentia service.
A news release notes that while the exact date will be determined in the coming days, Marine Atlantic is giving notice to customers that the Argentia service will re-commence upon the return of the MV Blue Puttees.
Customers whose original bookings were re-routed through Port aux Basques will be contacted and provided the option of re-booking to the Argentia service. Previously impacted customers who choose to take the Argentia service will see no increase in their fare and will continue to pay the Port aux Basques-North Sydney rate.
Marine Atlantic will provide additional updates, including revised dates for the resumption of the Argentia service, as information becomes available.
