CORNER BROOK A man charged with assaulting a woman twice in the past week has pleaded not guilty to all four charges against him.
Kenneth Wagman, 39, has been in custody since he was arrested by the RCMP in Rocky Harbour Monday.
He was in provincial court in Corner Brook on Friday for a decision on a bail hearing held Thursday. He was denied bail, but entered not guilty pleas to two charges of assault and two charges of breaching an undertaking that prohibited him from having any communication with the woman.
He is alleged to have assaulted her in Springdale on Aug. 10 and in Rocky Harbour two days later.
A trial on the four charges has been scheduled for Aug. 23.
Wagman, who is of no fixed address, has other outstanding charges of breaching an undertaking before the courts in St. John’s and was also the subject of an arrest warrant issued in Alberta.
