STEPHENVILLE Councillor Laura Aylward is asking citizens to place their confidence in her for a sixth term on Stephenville town council.
She is a long time volunteer in Stephenville and was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for her efforts.
Aylward plans on continuing to speak out to maintain and improve quality health care services at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for all our citizens. As a member of the physician recruitment committee she will continue to work on the recruitment of physicians and lobby government for improvements to long term care and home care services for seniors.
Other issues include lobbying government for low rental housing for seniors, a new College of the North Atlantic Headquarters, a new courthouse with accessibility and the upgrade and improvement of town streets. She is working with council towards the re-opening and upgrading of the West Coast Training Centre.
Aylward plans to continue to work with council to support the Stephenville Airport Corporation in attracting new business.
She is working with council to maintain the town’s green space and keep the town clean for children and citizens to enjoy.
