PASADENA — Derek Anthony is hoping the residents of Pasadena re-elect him to serve a third term on council.
Anthony said waste management tops his priority list and said in the last year, he has negotiated the disposal of white metals with a metal recycling company and has taken steps to combat illegal dumping.
The retired RCMP officer and small business owner, who was first elected in 2001, has served as president of the Pasadena Lions Club and chamber of commerce and as chairman of the Pasadena Days Festival for three terms.
Anthony has also been an active member of the Trails and Green Spaces Community Committee.
He said the availability of affordable housing is also an issue he will tackle.
Anthony said if re-elected his mandate will include respecting the impacts of heavy municipal taxes on seniors and others on fixed incomes.
Anthony has lived in Pasadena since 1994 and is married with three children.
