Downey hoping for sixth term

STEPHENVILLE CROSSING  Cynthia Downey, an experienced town councillor in Stephenville Crossing, is seeking re-election after serving 20 years in the position.

Currently she is vice-chair of the Bay St. George Waste Management Committee, vice-chair of the Western Regional Service Board for Waste Management and council representative with Bay St. George Chamber of Commerce.

She said during the past 25 years she has seen many improvements in Stephenville Crossing and that there been many accomplishments during the past four years.

Downey said the commitment of the town council members and their working relationship with the town clerk/manager and staff in consultation with the provincial government has contributed to the ongoing improvements in the town.

She is looking forward to working with the residents of Stephenville Crossing for the next four years to continue to see improvements in the town’s infrastructure and green areas. Downey is also looking forward to continuing her work on waste management issues.
