The driver of this tractor trailer was treated for minor injuries when the rig left the road near the off ramp from the Trans-Canada Highway entering Massey Drive early Thursday morning.

The driver of a tractor-trailer sustained only minor injuries when the truck he was driving left the eastbound off-ramp near Massey Drive shortly after midnight.

The RNC, Corner Brook Fire Department and paramedics from Western Health responded to the single-vehicle collision, which left the tractor-trailer in the ditch.

The tractor-trailer sustained extensive damages as a result of the incident.

The eastbound Exit 6 off-ramp was closed to traffic until 4:30 a.m. this morning.

The Department of Environment was also dispatched to the collision scene due to the leakage of diesel fuel from the tractor-trailer.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing.

  • How many accidents does it take

How many accidents does it take before someone realizes that there is something seriously wrong with the Massey drive exit, less than 1 month ago an ambulance was off the road in the same spot. How many other accidents have been unreported. Time to step up and do something before a fatality makes someone do it!
