CORNER BROOK The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook charged two individuals with offences relating to incidents of impaired operation of a motor vehicle over the weekend.
On Saturday, at approximately 1:30 a.m., an RNC officer from patrol services observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the Broadway area. As a result of a traffic stop, a 21-year-old city man was charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. He was released to appear in provincial court on Dec. 3.
On Sunday, at approximately 3:30 a.m., RNC officers from patrol services conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle proceed through a red light at the intersection of Main Street and Mill Road. As a result of the subsequent investigation a 58-year-old Corner Brook man was charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. He was detained at the Corner Brook Detention Center until sober and released to appear in provincial court on Oct. 15.
